Interview With Fraazo Founder
Earlier this year, I had the privilege of interviewing the founder of Fraazo, Atul Kumar, a consumer agri-tech startup that gives you access to farm fresh produce straight from the farmers. Fraazo has raised $15 million in Series A funding and is now expanding pan-India. If you are interested in joining the startup’s journey, I highly recommend you check out my interview below. I’ll explain how Fraazo works, how it’s different from its competition, and what you should expect from its team.
Fraazo is an online platform that allows customers to get farm fresh produce directly from farmers
Earlier, customers had to travel to markets and shops in order to buy their fruits and vegetables. Today, customers can easily access farm-fresh products delivered right at their doorsteps through FRAAZO. The company started as an offline store in Powai, Mumbai, but has since adopted a digital-first approach and is now operational in other parts of Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli, Virar, and Pune. Customers can order fresh fruits and vegetables for delivery at home and schedule a slot for delivery.
Fraazo Referral Code
Fraazo’s online platform sources farm-fresh produce directly from over 500 farmers, minimizing handling and ensuring hygiene. The app was launched in October 2019 and subscribers have soared since the COVID 19 pandemic. Unlike other online platforms, the Fraazo app offers customers the convenience of farm-fresh produce with minimal human interaction. The company even offers a no-hassle replacement policy, in case the product you bought is not as expected.
It uses a farm-to-fork model
Again the founder said, The company is a Mumbai-based start-up that has made it to the third largest last-mile delivery network in the city and is now gearing up for a multi-city rollout across India. Founded by Atul Kumar, Fraazo follows the farm-to-fork model to provide fresh produce to customers, while also cutting down on food wastage. The company has tied-up with producers and farmers to supply the retail brand, but did not disclose the number of Farmers it works with.
In the recent past, Fraazo has gotten investments from both angel investors and VC firms. Sixth Sense Ventures and Equanimity Investments led the Series A round, and Bijak invested with Elevation Capital and Venture Partners. The company says it is generating revenue four-fold, and it is processing one million orders per month. The company is aiming to become the number one online grocery store in India by 2023, and has a team of 100 people.
It has raised $15 million in Series A funding
Again the founder of fraazo said, The online grocery startup Fraazo has secured $15 million in Series A funding led by Sixth Sense Ventures and Equanimity Investments. The funding will be used to expand its operations in additional markets, such as paneer, curd, and flavored milk. The startup plans to launch 500+ dark stores across the top 15 Indian cities in the next 12 to 18 months. Currently serving over five lakh customers, Fraazo is aiming to serve 20 million households within 18 months.
Founded in 2013, Fraazo operates a last-mile delivery network that serves the Mumbai and Hyderabad markets. On average, the company delivers an order every three seconds and plans to expand to other metros. The startup leverages a farm-to-fork business model to manage the entire supply chain for fresh produce, which helps reduce food wastage and improves taste. As of August 2018, it has raised $15 million in Series A funding from Equanimity Investments, Sixth Sense Ventures, and other angel investors.
It is expanding operations pan-India
Fraazo, a leading online food delivery company, is looking to expand operations pan-India. The startup, which has been bootstrapped, received pre-Series-A funding in May 2019 from investors including GVFL, Equanimity Ventures and the Manish Choksi family office. Currently, the platform is available in Mumbai and Hyderabad, with plans to expand to seven other Indian cities. The company is available across four channels: Swiggy, Dunzo, and Zomato.
The company uses a farm-to-fork model and has a comprehensive back-end supply chain. Fraazo has made conscious efforts to reduce food waste and has invested in research to ensure fresh produce. It aims to serve at 1,000 food centers across India and is expanding its operations nationwide. It offers consumers fresh produce in less than 15 minutes. It also provides a slew of services, including grocery delivery, and has partnered with a variety of hyperlocal platforms.
